Aivault Health: checking tests and treatment against clinical protocols

Aivault Health is a module for quality control of medical care. It analyses the visit record in the clinic’s medical information system (MIS), matches tests and treatment against the clinical protocol for the confirmed diagnosis and shows which protocol requirements were met and which were missed.

Updated:

What Aivault Health checks

  • Whether the tests required by the protocol for this diagnosis were ordered.
  • Whether the prescribed treatment matches the protocol, and what is missing.
  • Whether the conditions a requirement depends on were taken into account — for example, the patient’s age or the severity of the condition.

What the doctor and the medical director see

Each visit gets a score from 1 to 5 for how well it follows the protocol. For each visit there is a list of protocol requirements, each marked as done, missed or not applicable. Missed critical requirements are highlighted separately. Each remark contains the requirement text from the protocol, so it is easy to verify.

Visit · Essential hypertension (I10)

Example

Checked against the clinical protocol

  • R1 Blood pressure measurement done
  • R2 12-lead ECG done
  • R3 Lipid profile missed
  • R4 Creatinine, potassium and eGFR Critical requirement Before prescribing an ACE inhibitor missed

Requirement text: before prescribing an ACE inhibitor, measure blood creatinine and potassium and calculate eGFR

  • R5 Hospitalisation for a hypertensive crisis Only if there is a crisis not applicable

2 done 2 missed, 1 of them critical 1 not applicable

How to read the marks

  • done requirement found in the record
  • missed the record lacks what the protocol requires
  • not applicable requirement for a different situation
Example: what the result of checking one visit looks like. The patient data is made up; the requirements come from the protocol.

Other features of the module

  • A hint during the visit

While the patient is still in the room, the doctor sees which protocol requirements are not met yet and what exactly to order. The decision is always the doctor’s.

  • Analytics for management

Scores for every doctor and department, month-by-month changes and a ready report for the medical board. You see where the same gaps keep coming back — and who needs to work on what.

  • Lost revenue

Aivault finds tests the protocol calls for that the doctor did not order, and prices them at your clinic’s rates. This is an estimate of a missed opportunity, not guaranteed extra revenue.

  • Pre-visit patient summary

The AI assistant prepares a short report from the patient’s record in the MIS so the doctor can get ready for the visit faster.

  • Patient data analysis

The system analyses the patient’s MIS data and suggests protocol-based treatment and prevention recommendations.

Limitations to be aware of

  • Aivault Health does not diagnose and does not replace the doctor: it is a quality control tool, and the final decision is the doctor’s.
  • Diagnoses confirmed in the visit record are checked against the protocol.
  • The system sees only what is recorded in the MIS. If a test or prescription is not in the visit record, the check cannot take it into account.
  • Protocol requirements that apply to inpatient care or to later visits are marked as not applicable to an outpatient visit.

Frequently asked questions

How is Aivault Health different from a manual clinical audit?

A manual audit usually covers a sample of records and takes an expert’s time. Aivault Health can check every visit automatically by the same rules, and the expert reviews the deviations already found.

Which clinical protocols does Aivault support?

The library is based on the clinical protocols and standards of care of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and on international evidence-based medicine sources. A clinic’s own protocols can be added as well. More on the Protocols page.

Can a clinic use its own protocols?

Yes. In addition to the Ministry of Health protocols, the clinic’s internal protocols can be added to the check. Scope and timing are agreed during implementation.

Who sees the check results?

Authorised clinic staff — doctors and medical directors — in the Aivault account.
